More from London Fashion Week...

New knitwear talent Mark Fast has put on a great first show. I love his take on knitwear. The bodycon dresses are exactly on trend, and the fringing gives it an extra little twist. I'd love to flounce down the high street in the outfit in the first picture. Fabulous!

I have to say I love this collection. They have great basics all wrapped up. A white shirt doesn't look amiss in anyones wardrobe!

After being popular with main key figures in the fashion scene last season Peter Pilotto is back with another beautiful collection. I particularly like the outfit second from the right, with its feather like texture.

This is a brave new collection for Mary Katrantzou. I love the bold and different patterns, they speak volumes. I wish her every luck in the future.

This collection from House of Holland was very hit and miss. The pictures above were the best of the collection in my opinion. Maybe Henry is relying too heavily on his supermodel connections and not on his collection. And was it just me or did this collection remind anyone of paint charts?

London Fashion Week...

It was Sienna and her sister Savannah's debut show this London Fashion Week. I have to say I'm really rather impressed. I've picked out some of the best looks above. They have definitely got the dress designing down to a t. They are all simple but at the same time just that little bit different. A strength for them I have to agree with numerous other fashion websites and magazines, has to be the leather jackets. They just seem to be cut well and just the right amount of biker!

Chloe Sevigny is well known for being a fashionista. But is she any good as a designer? Well, yes. There are some great pieces and the styling is spot on, just what you'd expect from Chloe. I screams young hip Londoner and I'm pretty sure if she works hard on the smaller details her next showing will be even better and should be well polished.

Vivienne is my favourite designer by far. I love her attitude and her choice of models. Her pieces are just what I look for. This collection was no different there were some great pieces. Including the rather lovely coat shown above. The dress Daisy Lowe is wearing (far right) is the perfect LBD for any party.

Oh, Topshop I die! It was sequins and leather galore at the Topshop Unique show. I don't know about you but I would LOVE the sequin harem pants. The footwear was a major plus point for me as well. Topshop always produce great killer heels!

Well, well Luella you've done it again! I have to say I LOVE this collection. Shes muted down the colours for autumn/winter but there is still no dip in the style and wearability. The dresses were amazing!! I especially love the one in the top picture third from the left. You can see a real theme in this collection which can often get lost in other designers heads.

Giles has created another great collection this London Fashion Week. The dress in the bottom picture 2nd from right is blowing my mind. This heels are killer the look is amazing! What more could you want from a collection?

New York continued....

( L - R Alexander Wang x 2, Temperley London x2, and Jason Wu.)

So here are my last choices from New York Fashion week.

For me it's all about sharp silhouettes and high heels. I think Alexander Wang got this down to the finest detail. The detailing on his high waisted trousers were impeccable and I think he really portrayed the 'strong woman' throughout his collection.

Temperley London had some beautiful leather detailing throughout their collection and the looks above really show how I would love to dress on a daily basis!

Strong shoulders and a high heel. Jason Wu produced some amazing dresses in his collection. I thought the one above had just the right amount of detail. I've been drawn to strong shoulders this season.

In oppostion to this we saw some fun and flirty style from Betsey Johnson. I expecially like the the last outfit on the right. The skull cardigan over the net skirt looks great and adds abit of fantasy to fashion.

Lets see what London brings.

Let the fashion commence...

So it's no surprise to anyone remotely interested in fashion that the 'fashion weeks' are upon us.

New York was first up in one of the major fashion weeks with its week being scheduled from the 13th to the 20th of February.

Unfortunately I can not be there due to well lack of money and commitments over here. And the fact it wouldn't be plausible what-so-ever. So I am forced to look at other fashion bloggers blogs for the down low on fashion week. Not that I don't love reading Jak and Jil, Style Bubble etc.

Here are my picks of the shows so far:

(L - R Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, J. Mendel)

More New York to come...

The current economic climate...

So its no big news that the current economic climate is still on a down turn. But it is good to see the the world of fashion can still flourish at a time like this.
The latest issue of Vogue just landed on my mat literally 10 minutes ago and I started flicking through the pages. An advert for the latest Conde Nast publication LOVE appears in the pages. Set to launch on the 19th of February, it is certainly good to see that there is hope for the fashion world and fashion journalism yet.
