While I was in London we went to see the Margiela exhibition with my other course mates. It was an extremely inspiring place to visit. We weren’t allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition, which is a shame but I have tried to find a few on the net to show you what I’m talking about. It was amazing to see such a body of the design house’s work in one place. There were a variety of different sections with all kinds of of pieces from the back catologue. I especially loved the way they displayed the Trench coats. The different takes on the coat were inspiring to see, and there were many fashion students on the floor busily sketching some of the coats.
The entrance is covered in press clippings about the exhibition and on the infamous Margiela. I think if you possibly can you should catch the exhibition before it closes on the 5th September. It really is worth a visit and you may come away feeling as inspired as I did.
