Maison Martin Margiela...

While I was in London we went to see the Margiela exhibition with my other course mates. It was an extremely inspiring place to visit. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition, which is a shame but I have tried to find a few on the net to show you what I'm talking about.
It was amazing to see such a body of the design house's work in one place. There were a variety of different sections with all kinds of of pieces from the back catologue. I especially loved the way they displayed the Trench coats. The different takes on the coat were inspiring to see, and there were many fashion students on the floor busily sketching some of the coats.

The entrance is covered in press clippings about the exhibition and on the infamous Margiela.
I think if you possibly can you should catch the exhibition before it closes on the 5th September.
It really is worth a visit and you may come away feeling as inspired as I did.

Dover Street Market...

I started my short course in Fashion Journalism at London College of Fashion.

In the afternoon we took a trip to Dover Street Market which was an interesting experience. Being the brain child of Rei Kawakubo from Comme des Garcons it was certainly a fashion experience to behold. It was so good to see so many interesting pieces under one roof.

It was such an inspirational space to be in and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. I found a few pieces which I found hell to leave behind. And I couldn't take pictures for you lovely people which was abit of a bummer. But I must say that if you haven't been yourself it is a must for any fashion fan.

I would really like...

From Nasty Gal, Topshop and Filthy Magic.

My style tends to lean towards the grungy side, or from looking at these items it may seem to. I do love black, something like a good stud and a chunky heel. So it may come as a surprise that I really want these...

Filthy Magic.

I know I know not as good as the real Miu Miu's but this girl doesn't have that kind of cash. Come to think of it I don't have the $199 for these beauties. It is my birthday soon, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough?

Goings on...

So as usual I'm leaving too long between posts. I really do admire the likes of Susie Bubble and her commitment to her blog. I'm going to keep her in mind whenever I feel like slacking off.
I have a few things to update on at the moment, I am actually going down to London on the 15th in preparation for the 16th as I begin my short course at London College of Fashion. I decided to do the Fashion Journalism 2 course. I'm hoping that I come away with plenty of invaluable information and that it helps me to get the hell out of retail and on the career ladder! If anyone out there is doing the same course do give me a shout, it would be lovely to know other people before I head down!

In other news, in an earlier post I did I interviewed young designer Mary Benson. I am actually going to be her 'press officer' for want of a better phrase, among other things. And will be probably spending a lot of time in here...

Mary is in the process of getting her website sorted here, so keep your eye out for when it goes live! This is the start of exciting stuff and I can't wait to be part of it. Please visit Mary's Blog.

Yellowdoor Winter preview...

I went down to London this week and thought I'd pop in on Yellowdoor and have a look at their Winter Press Day. They had a range of different labels on show from Acne to Republic.

I really liked this jacket from Republic. I was actually shocked at the quality of the product having never been to Republic before. This is going to be one to check out when it hits the shops.

The Acne Shoes were impressive as usual. I always love a good wedge!

I absolutely LOVED this leather jacket from Acne I just had to get my Best friend to hold it up to the light to snap a quick picture.

These furry boots were pretty insane however I loved them!

These were my favourite shoes from Acne, these will be on my wish list for the winter. Alas they are probably way out of my price range.
