The Craft

I've always had a love for 90's movies and The Craft has to be one of my favourites. The fashion from the movie is an obvious talking point, as many designers of recent years have re-created looks which could of stepped out of this film. Alexander Wang brought back grunge in a big way and many other designers have used all things Gothic through out their collections. I always liked the juxtaposition between the witches and the Catholic girls school. The four of them stood out from the sea of boring teens.
My favourite character was always Nancy, although she was down right mad she had the most interesting fashion in the film. Whether it be her PVC mac or her maxi length dresses. She always had her own style and identity.
Here's what I think Nancy would be rocking these days...

A Love Letter...

Dear Christopher Bailey,

How did you climb inside my head and put everything I love into your current collection? Studs, spikes, leather and animal print. You really do spoil us. It is now officially acceptable for me to dress like a 'Hell's Angel.'

Thanks

Laura

New York Fashion Week September 2010

So I have looked through many different pictures from a whole number of collections that were shown in New York. I have decided to pick out my favourites as it would be too long and probably tedious for you all to read through a review for every show. Anyway we have style.com to read for a blow by blow account of each show. So without further a do...

Helmut Lang

The white, black and grey basics would be perfect as part of anyones spring wardrobe. The grey maxi skirt would look hot with a pair of black wedges and a vintage rock tee tucked in.

Alexander Wang

White is definitely the new black/camel/etc. We better start to stock up now if were going to have those complete white outfits for Spring. Although I am thinking that an all white ensemble is not for the faint hearted.

Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott can always be relied on for bringing fun to the proceedings. The bin bags and carrier bags strewn across the models may not transcend from the catwalk. However the skeleton dress could be rocked by the best of us. The high waisted skirts were one of my favourite pieces.

Having looked through many collections from New York I found it a struggle to pick out many that I actually liked. My thoughts are that with many designers coming back to London to show, I will find many more treasures from London Fashion Week.

Lady GaGa?

Oh no its me! This was from my birthday on Friday night... safe to say I got a few odd looks.

Normal blog service will resume soon, I need to get cracking with looking through some serious fashion week collections. Hopefully there will be plenty for me to drool over. I'll meet you over at Style.com.

What I Wore Today... and the bad pose saga.

So it continues my bad posing and rather half arsed pictures. I can't help it I don't have an SLR or a wonderful photographer who make me look like I've just stumbled out of a Italian Vogue Editorial. I'm not miserble either, actually I am squinting to see when the picture was going to be taken. Hurrah! I love this jacket from Topshop, you can't really get the full effect in these pictures. The detailing on the jacket is actually small silver balls sewn on individually.

Not sure what's going on here. I do love my top from Tesco though. I am not a supermarket snob and have been pleasantly surprised on many occasions at the bargains I can pick up. This little number has shoulder pads too so it has a good shape to it.

And for your utter most delight here you get a rather nice ass shot? Oh dear oh dear. Must try harder. I was trying to show the back of the jacket. Sorry guys!

H&M Designer Collaboration 2010 - The Dream

I am excited to see what this collection will bring.
H&M always seem to pick amazing collaborators.
Alber is right to say he will bring the luxury of Lanvin to H&M, it will give all of us a chance to own a slice of Lanvin who ordinarily cannot afford to buy the real thing.
