Review: Lessons from Madame ChicSunday, 30 December 2012
I know I always include a book in my favourites of the month but I have never taken the steps into writing a full book review. I was kindly sent Lessons from Madame Chic 20 Stylish Secrets I Learned While Living in Paris by Jennifer L. Scott. Some of you may have seen her blogging over on The Daily Connoisseur. The book is based on Jennifer's time living in Paris as a foreign exchange student. She finds herself living with a rather well to do family and begins to learn a thing or two about the art of living the Parisian way from said 'Madame Chic.'
I only went to Paris for the first time last month and I must say I can see how a city like Paris can sweep you away. The book is split into different sections depending on the lesson learnt - above you can see 'Find Your True Style.' This is something I have been thinking about a lot recently. Now I am moving into my mid-twenties (a terrifying prospect in itself) I think I have finally mastered the art of dressing to suit me. I have bought another book about refining your style, that may pop up on here in the near future.
All in all the book is a charming look in to Jennifer's time in Paris - with anecdotes galore with lessons to be learned. I would really recommend this book for anyone who dreams of a life in the most romantic city in the world. You can have a read for yourself - this book is available to buy on Amazon
