Five things To Do In New York

06/10/2013
I thought it would be a little different if I suggested some places to visit while in the Big Apple. I’ve been talking to people on Twitter about my travels and a few people tweeted back that they’d like some suggestions for when they visit. These are only 5 things and as you can imagine there is so much to do in the city, so this is only a little snippet of what is on offer.

Of course there are some things you have to do regardless of how touristy it is. There really is nothing that beats the 25 mile view we had – maybe take a trip up at night to see the bright lights of NYC.

The High Line is a park which was once a railway around Manhattan – it’s perfect on a morning when its quiet. Grab a bagel and bench to appreciate the views. You can enter the high line at various places:

While I was in New York I knew I had to see a Broadway show – but which one? There are so many. We finally decided on Wicked and we weren’t disappointed. The tickets can be fairly pricey – Wicked does also have a lottery where you can put your name in for front row seats at only $30.

We picked the perfect day to visit the Central Park Zoo – not a cloud in the sky. Make sure you catch the sea lions feeding time – they put on a little show with their keepers. It isn’t the biggest zoo but it is a great way to spend a few hours.

The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has vast collections of artifacts and art. My favourite section was Ancient Egyptian – you can see me here posing with a sarcophagus. I think we spent about 3 hours in here but you could easily spend a whole day wandering around. It’s somewhere to bring you inspiration and you’ll leave a little more cultured than you were before.
