Twitter is great. You come across some real gems – like Caitlin Charles-Jones’ designs. I saw that she had created a small collection of George at Asda. I’ve bought other student collections from there in the past so I was excited to see Caitlin’s.
I caught up with Caitlin, as she saw her collection landed on Monday in stores and online…
Tell me more about how you got to this point…
I graduated from Kingston University in 2012 and showed my BA Graduate collection at Graduate Fashion Week. I won the Visionary Knitwear Award and as a result I got to design a diffusion/commercial version of my collection for George at Asda.  My collection for George still captures the feel of my graduate collection with easy wearable shapes that flatter and work with the body.  They were also great about using the intarsia technique in order to create the graphic patterns which was such a big part of my original collection!

How did you feel when you won the award?
I couldn’t believe it when I won and was totally overwhelmed….I was just glad to have got to show at GFW I never expected anything more!

What are you plans for the near future?
At the moment I’m doing my MA in Womenswear Knitwear at the Royal College of Art.  I’m currently working on my final collection which will be shown at the end of May at the RCA fashion show.
Visit Caitlin’s website here. She also blogs over on Novelty Jumper.
