Although my stint at London Fashion Week was only short last season I was glad I managed to catch the Edeline Lee presentation. This season I knew I had to see it again. It was in a number of rooms in King’s College – which is underneath the east wing of Somerset House.
This season Edeline was inspired by ‘the teenage fantasy of New York.’ She has also found herself moving East from West London and has been inspired by the grittier landscape.

You could see this in the composition of this collection – the fabrics used had a more urban feel. The walls were covered in white and black graffiti and there was also a DJ set from Citizens. Again bring a sense of youth to the whole collection. The printed blue fabrics had an almost Caribbean vibe to them, bringing in another sense of fun in amongst the white, black and grey.
The thing I love about Lee’s presentation is that there is simply so much to look at – they were even shooting the lookbook live in one of the rooms. I felt nostalgic seeing the white trainers which were covered in doodles. ‘Remember when you were bored at school and drew all over your shoes with biro pen?’
All in all this collection was feminine with an edge – the woman in the city who commands attention but has a full functional wardrobe.
