Of course we all know New York Fashion Week kicked off last week. I've been pouring over all of the content, wishing I was there. September seems a world away - although it seems most fashion week goers are sporting snow boots this time around. Lets hope that London at the end of this week doesn't see the snow.

Rebecca Taylor's Autumn Winter 2014 collection was one that really caught my eye. Dark hues with a splash of colour. I was instantly drawn to the dark blue biker jacket above the zip details and shearling collar really add something extra. I loved how her collection mixed masculine with the feminine. Case in point above - the metallic bomber jacket mixed paired with a floaty blouse sum up the look perfectly. There were plenty of wearable pieces in this collection.
There were some pieces which didn't seem to fit - floaty dresses in a weird mix of purple hues. The strongest pieces had to be the coats for me, plenty of outerwear for the woman with an edge.
Reading what Rebecca Taylor had to say about her collection made me love it more. She was inspired my French graffiti artist Paul Baudelocque - whose works are all created with chalk. These beautiful works of art simply wash away when the rain comes. She compared this to fashion with the need to move on, working on the next season quickly after the last one has been shown.
