Last night I went down to the Harvey Nichols Leeds SS14 Fashion Show which was held in the luxurious Victoria Quarter. I always make a note in my diary when this event comes around because not only is it great to see all the new SS14 collections but it’s great fun too. I went along with my mum and we enjoyed a glass of bubbly or two before we took our seats. On our seats this year was a lovely bright yellow sleeve in which was a programme with every single outfit printed out for you and the price. I saw a few ladies scribbling down notes next to some outfits. No doubt picking out their purchases.
One thing I have to mention is the incredible soundtrack Harvey Nichols have through out their show, it always gets me dancing in my seat. One of my favourite looks of the whole show is the beautiful powder blue leather top and skirt from Whistles. I didn’t actually know that Harvey Nichols stocked Whistles now, so it was a pleasant surprise to read where it was from. I’m a real sucker for anything that co-ordinates at the moment, so this was so on point for me.
The printed bomber jacket in the photo above was another favourite of mine, continue on my love for all things ‘sports luxe.’ This is from a label called Finders Keepers – which only started in 2009. Relatively new but designing some great key pieces. They might possibly be my new favourite label. There seemed to be a lot more street wear looks this season than there has ever been before which was great for me as these outfits are more the kind of style I go for. I totally recommend checking out one of the Harvey Nichols shows – I’m sure they’ll be back after their store re-fit. It’s not only a fun night out but you get to see the garments in action, up close. Thanks for having me Harvey Nichols! I also got to meet the lovely Josephine from Blooming Flame – were going to be doing some photography for each other soon, so watch this space.
