In The Spotlight: Deichmann X Caroline Blomst

Something dropped into my inbox a little while ago that excited me. Deichmann announced their brand new Spring Summer 2014 collaboration with fashion blogger Caroline Blomst. I’d been a big fan of Caroline’s blog for a long time so knew I had to check out this collection. To me the collection sums up the city lifestyle which comes across through Caroline’s blog. Her street style pictures are so inspiring, it’s no wonder she’s designed such a fashion forward collection.
To me this collection is all about the functionality of shoes and how they should fit into your lifestyle, not the other way around. You know the shoes I’m talking about, you argue with yourself  ‘I’ll get my wear out of them’ only to find every time you wear them that you’d happily take part in your own movie ’27 hours later’ in which you amputate your own feet. Well maybe not quite so drastic but you catch my drift.

I’m happy to report this collection offers not only style but comfort. I decided to try on the pixel print sneaker and the T-bar shoes with stud details. I chose these in particular because I thought they summed up a functional set of shoes for the woman on the go. Trainers for running errands during in the day – then when you want to switch up your look for the evening you can take out your heels.

I’ve shown how you can change up an outfit in the images below with the simple change of a jacket, shoes and a slick of lipstick. All things you can carry with you to work, those after work drinks are always spur of the moment!

The pixel print trainer satisfies by inner geek – I love the emergence of bright trainers, again I think inspired by people Caroline has taken snaps of. When I was at London Fashion Week there were a large amount of people in trainers, handy when you are navigating the cobbles.
I love these T-bar shoes, look like they were inspired by the lovely Valentino Rock stud heels but at an affordable price.  I love the heel height, meaning you can wear them for hours without fear of the dreaded shoe burn. I love the way they look with distressed denim but they’d look equally good with an LBD.

You can find Caroline’s collection in store and online from today, with prices between £17.99 – £27.99 you’ll find something to satisfy your shoe habit.
