Yesterday I went over the channel to Paris for the La Redoute AW14 Press Day. This is the fourth time I’ve been over with work now. I go with with a crew to film all the trends. It’s really exciting to see everything that I’ll be seeing on the website for the next 6 months. It always seems weird looking at autumn/winter clothes when the sun is shining. I thought I’d share some of my snaps from the day with you – all from my iPhone or iPad I’m afraid, although I don’t think the pictures have come out too bad. I thought the outfit on the mannequin below really summed up Parisienne style. I have to get myself some wide leg trousers for next season.
The lovely Barbara and Sharon from own label ba&sh were on hand to answer our questions. I have to say that these ladies looked seriously glamorous! They were so down to earth too. We had a chat about who they’d like to see wearing their clothes, they mentioned the one and only Kate Moss. Their collection is made up of ultra classic pieces which any woman would love to have in their wardrobe. I’ve got my eye on a few pieces, I’ll be making the most of my employee discount.
We also had the pleasure of interviewing Jacquemus – a record breaker after being the youngest ever designer to feature on schedule at Paris Fashion Week, he was only 21 at the time. Now at 24, he has designed an exclusive collection for La Redoute. He told us that he doesn’t really care for celebrity culture and that he gets much more excited seeing the average girl on the street wearing some of his pieces. I need the over-sized pink coat he’s designed for us this season, I love a good winter bright.
