On Tuesday I was invited down to the Oracle in Leeds to the Birds Eye Inspirations Picture House. The premise of the evening was to sample their menu and at the end of your meal you pay by simply uploading a picture to Instagram. I thought this was such an interesting idea and a really inventive way to spread the word about their new dishes. The restaurant itself was a pretty intimate too which only added to the ambiance.
There was a live feed in the restaurant to display all the attendees pictures – you can see me above on the screen. Bread was delivered to your table in a brown paper bag – something I’ve never seen before. The food itself was really tasty, we were treated to a main and dessert. I had the Peri Peri chicken, which was lovely I’d definitely recommend it. The complimentary wine went down really well too. I hope to see another pop-up restaurant like this in the near future, it really cashes in on the whole ‘meal selfie.’ I think you all know what I’m talking about? Do you have to take a picture of your meal before you actually tuck into it?
