London Fashion Week: Backstage at GILES with Toni & Guy
I was lucky enough to pop backstage at the GILES show with the fabulous Toni & Guy team. We were told by Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck (Global Creative Director) that the premise of the hair was to be the total opposite to the collection – the revved up disco inspired clothing needed structured hair and make-up.
The Victorian inspired hair with a grunge twist is simple to re-create – using sea salt spray and some sectioning you can re-create this for yourselves. Section the top down both sides into a rectangle shape and tie the hair into a top pony but let the hair fall down. Then pull your hair from the bottom of your head and secure along with the top section. I’m going to be re-creating this myself over the coming months to keep ahead of the trend. I’m always on the look out for simple hair looks – I’m a bit rubbish at experimenting with hair. If you take a peek at the Toni & Guy websiteyou can see more how-to’s on the LFW looks.
The nails looked easy to re-create too – apply a base coat, never miss this step out. Apply a grass green and allow to dry, paint the top half of your nail with a deep black. To re-create that make-up look use a combination of dark greys and black and smoke it out! This make-up was all about the eyes so keep the rest of your face neutral.
