I’ll be heading down to London tomorrow before the start of London Fashion Week on Friday. The great thing about this season are the amount of events the general public can attend. I often wondered what people passing by Somerset House must think. It’s great that more people can be involved, after all the fashion industry is a big part of the UK and this is your chance to get behind it. I thought I’d summarise a few of the things that you can get involved in this SS15.
Oxford Street are throwing everything into London Fashion Week by holding their own Fashion Showcase. They have all kind of events going on from meet and greets with celebrities to industry talks on all things fashion. It really gives everybody the chance to get involved and where better than on the great British high street?
The BBC have announced their involvement with London Fashion Week in the form of three programmes all available exclusively on BBC iPlayer. Presented by Susie Bubble, Daisy Lowe and Abbey Clancy, the three will focus on different aspects of London Fashion Week: Frowers, Backstage and the trends. It projects like this that let people have a little peek into another world and it makes it accessible for all. Keep an eye out for them popping up on iPlayer.
The #LFW digital talks are a great way to get involved and are also open to the public- the dicussions will of course be livestreamed. There are some great guests on the panels and really interesting topics being covered, so I urge you to RSVP now. They all take place in the BFC showspace, so it gives you a chance to nosy inside too.
You can also get involved in the street style frenzy by snapping yourself in the Swatch, London Fashion Week booth. You can take a picture of yourself in your outfit of the day, print them and share them to facebook.
Lastly make sure you keep up to date on all the goings on by following the #LFW hashtag on twitter – you can see tweets and pictures straight from the front row as they happen. Mine will be included in there somewhere and you can also follow me on Instagram for more #LFW snaps!
