Beauty: Valentino Couture Inspired Make-up

My eyes were glued to Vogue.co.uk and Instagram for all the latest pictures from the couture shows. I loved the Valentino show, it was throughly modern while still having a historical twist. The make-up itself was kept to a minimum. A fresh face with a rouge to the cheeks were all they needed. The mascara opening up the eyes for that sense of innocence. The hair was adorned with flowers, giving it a slight fairy like quality.

I thought I'd pick out a few products that would help you re-create this look. Your base should be kept as fair is possible, if you are blessed with great skin, just add moisturiser. Brush out your eyebrows into a more exaggerated shape.
You'll need to add a base to your eyelids, I thought you could use MACs Groundwork, make sure you use it sparingly. The make-up artist used some light eyeshadow to create some depth, I thought this Makeup Revolution palette had the perfect shades. The iconic 2 has lots of lovely brown tones and it's such a purse friendly product. The models eyelashes are carefully separated to create that wide eyed look, I love Soap & Glory's Thick and Fast mascara for an extended lash.
A slight rouge on the cheeks can be achieved by applying a little of Elf's Fushia Fusion. Apply to the apples of the cheeks and blend as desired. Lastly we have the lips, they didn't seem to have much on them. But I thought a little of New ID's gloss in Spice Berry would create that 'your lips but better' effect. I thought I'd do a little make-up map for you because who doesn't like colouring in with make-up? Obviously this is an exaggerated version of the make-up, so you know...you can actually see the colour.

  4. This is the sort of makeup I wish I could achieve, it's minimal but still so pretty. I usually apply too little and look even more bare faced than when I began OR I apply too much and look like a drag queen. Here's to achieving this perfect Valentino in between
