On Sunday I was invited down to the Lambert’s Yard events space for the Curry’s Juicing Event with Joe Blogs. They were showing off the prowess of their Phillips juicers. I was intrigued to find out more about them because I’ve never actually used one before. Everyone seems to be a on the juice hype at the moment, I wanted to tap into that.
All of the bloggers were split into 5 groups and sent around the 5 different stations they had set up for us. There was a nutrition station, yoga, a try it yourself, a mocktail session and a soup corner. I was really excited to try yoga as I’ve never tried my hand at it before. I thought it might be pretty intense and boy was I right. The yoga instructor was really accommodating for peoples skill levels but she pushed those to the limit that wanted to go there. I was a dab hand at the downward dog by the end of it. I could feel the stretching the day after too!
The nutrition station was really interesting, juicing is a great way to get the good stuff into your system quickly. I think I’m going to be trying the radiant skin juice soon, so keep your eye out for that recipe.
I also tried my hand at making a ‘Mocktail’ – I have to say I was pretty impressed with the juicer itself, you can just throw in a whole apple and it can handle it like a boss! I think I’ll definitely consider purchasing one for myself now, it’s a quick way to get your 5 a day. I think I’d have to look out for some juice recipes
though, when I had a go for myself I wasn’t impressed with the outcome. it was a great event and a lovely healthy way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
