I was in a little bit of a daze when I arrived at Hotel Chocolat, I’d only just got back from London Fashion Week. As it turns out good food and great company is just what I needed. The fabulous Lela London
invited a select number of bloggers for an intimate dinner. We were treated to a talk from Dan about the different types of chocolate that they make on site. It’s really interesting to hear about the different flavours and how they are made. We did a lot of chocolate tasting, of course we had no problem with that!
Afterwards we were taken upstairs for some amazing food in the Roast + Conch restaurant. For staters I went for the Market Vegetable soup with cracked cacao, sourdough. It was so tasty, I’d highly recommend it. It’s not too filling either so you have room for more. For my main I went for the West Indian vegetable tasting platter, this came complete with sweet potato and cauliflower gobi, spiced lentil dhal, cumin-spiced aubergine and cacao nib rice. It was different to anything I’d had before and I liked that there was so much variety. I was completely full after all this so sadly I didn’t get to try a desert, there’s always a next time though. We did however head downstairs and try one of their amazing cocktails. The cocktail itself was talked through expertly by the head bartender, who actually came up with the recipe himself. All in all we had an amazing evening, thanks to Lela and Hotel Chocolat for having me!
