Review: My Favourites Lately

I thought I’d try a new type of post this month, a quick look at some random favourites. I’m not going to do this every month, just when I build up a bank of new favourites. I forgot about my love for Benefit’s Lookin’ to Rock Rita – I ran out years ago and never re-purchased. With top notes that include coconut, this fragrance reminds me of being on holiday. Have you ever had that, when a scent can just take you back to a moment in your past? This perfume does that for me, so with a feeling of nostalgia and longing for warmer climates, I’ve been spraying this on myself everyday.

When I saw that The Outnet sale was live I was on the site quicker than you can say ‘bargains.’ Everything seems to sell out in a blink of an eye on the site, I guess that’s what happens when you reduce designer goods. Anyway I was lucky enough to snap up this gorgeous pink skirt by Simone Rocha, I can’t wait to wear it with a simple white t-shirt, bare legs and sandals in summer. I just need to work on my tan before then…

Before Christmas Blind Pig were kind enough to send over some of their amazing cider. I have to admit I am a bit of a cider fan, so I’m always keen to try new flavours. There are three different flavours: first honey, whiskey and apple, then try rum and poached pear and finally bourbon & blueberry. My favourite has to be honey, whiskey and apple – it has such a rich taste and warms you right up. I’ve started to see it sold in my favourite bars around Leeds and it’s become my tipple of choice. All the usual warnings here, don’t you dare drink before 18 or if you’re reading in the USA, 21!
