Even though I have enough nail polishes to open my own salon, I end up sticking to certain shades depending on the season. I thought I’d pick out a few of my favourite summer nail polishes for you all to have a look at.
First up are my Victoria Beckham for Nails Inc shades – the bone colour being Bamboo White and the orange red Judo Red. These polishes seem to suit any occasion and I find myself drawn to them time and time again. Both have really good nourishing properties for your nails too. The Judo Red shade really reminds me of the Morange lipstick by MAC, so if you have that you’ll know the shade immediately. These are a dream to apply and last for about a week if you use a good base and top coat.
Next up we have Barry M’s Gelly Hi shine polish in the shade Guava. Something about this colour screams summer to me. I love the high shine look of this polish, if you apply it with care it looks like a professional gel manicure. I especially love this on my toes in summer and it would set off a tan perfectly.
I’ve got quite a lot of Ciaté polishes, I got one of their advent calendars for Christmas which had a loads of different shades in. This shade named electronica is a vibrant pink which really makes your nails pop. Again, if you’re going away, this would look amazing with a deep tan. I’m impressed with the staying power of the Ciaté polishes, I’m forever chipping mine but this seems to last.
I was lucky enough to get some of the Body Shop’s Colour Crush polishes at fashion week last September. The pigment in these polishes is amazing. A grape affair is a pretty shade of lilac which would look great teamed with a white outfit in summer. Picture you in a white broderie anglaise dress, cocktail in your manicured hand and the sea breeze in your hair…
