What I Wore: Parklife Festival

parklife-festival-outfit
The other weekend I went along to Parklife in Manchester with my best friends. I only went to the Sunday which I'm seriously regretting now as I would of loved to of seen Mark Ronson. The main reason for my journey to Parklife was my need to see FKA Twigs. I missed her UK tour last year and was eager to see her as her album has become one of my firm favourites. I have to say she absolutely blew me away, I went all the way to the front and the atmosphere was electric. My pictures aren't the best as they are just on my iPhone but you get the idea.
I think everyone should make an effort to go to a music festival at least once in their lifetime, personally I make it my aim to go to one at least once a year. What could be better than dancing in a field to your favourite music, with a drink in hand and all your best friends surrounding you?

Festival dressing is like a new breed of getting ready, it takes careful planning (the weather is not guaranteed at a UK festival) and lots of thought into practicalities. For example you wouldn't see me wearing a jumpsuit or playsuit to a festival, would you fancy getting naked in a port-a-loo?
For me a dress is the most practical and easy to wear. I picked this paisley print floaty dress from Missguided. I loved the whole 70s vibe including the extra wide sleeves, perfect for dancing! I also wore a pair of lace trim cycling shorts underneath so I wouldn't have any embarrassing 'flasher' moments. I finished it off with a firm festival favourite, the fedora. I picked this one up from Tesco, they have some great hats in at the moment. Of course I stuck to my faithful wellies as you never know when your going to have to navigate the mud. Are you going to any festivals this summer?

  3. Erm, you look super duper adorable! I love that kaftan style top/dress. Festival fashion is so much fun & you can be so playful with it. I can't say I've gotten in to FKA Twigz. Might give her a little listen!
