What I Wore: The Intern PremiereMonday, 26 October 2015
The other week I attended the premiere for the Anne Hathaway and Robet De Niro movie 'The Intern.' I was there to cover is for works social media but I was lucky enough to be able to take one of my friends along too. I'd never been to a premiere before so I didn't know what to expect. We headed to the red carpet but didn't have long to soak up the atmosphere and take a picture because we were ushered inside pretty quickly. I get the sense that if you aren't 'someone' they want to get your off the carpet for when the talent arrives. I was wearing a vintage dress and a pair of La Redoute stilettos. My bag is Alexander Wang, so small but I love it. We headed inside and took our seats, we were pleased to discover that there were free cinema snacks and water. It's the small things...
We were waiting for a quite a while but suddenly a few well known faces started to make their way into the room. Nancy Meyers (the director, Anne Hathaway, Robert De Niro all filed in followed by the MC for the night Edith Bowman. They introduced the film to us and departed. Not before Anne had a little trip on her sky high heels, she smirked and curtsied for the audience, in a kind of 'look I'm just like you and fall over myself' kind of way. It has firmly placed me in the Anne Hathaway cheer camp.
The film itself was heartfelt and will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. It was quite relatable to me, working in a fashion company and of course I'm always going to cheer on a female CEO. I highly recommend it if you want to watch something feel good. Also Nancy Meyer's interiors in this film did not disappoint, yet again!
