The other week I attended the La Redoute SS16 in Paris, I have to say this is one of my favourite parts of my job. Who doesn’t like popping over to Paris to see some lovely clothes?
I was really excited to see the new designer collaboration for SS16, Carven. Vogue were the first to break the story in the UK, I’ve been receiving a few tweets about when it’s going to be available already. I wasn’t disappointed, I think I’ve made a mental note of everything I need to buy with my staff discount. I love the black dress below and there some amazing two pieces sixties style suits. The duo at the head of Carven were inspired by the air-hostess uniforms that were created by the founder, Madame Carven, in the Sixties and Seventies. Have you got your eye on any of the Carven pieces?
I also have my eye on lots of footwear for the spring summer season. I loved the silver platform brogues and the loafers, perfect for the office. I’m also going to be buying lots of the French slogan t-shirts, which were also Made in France close to our head office. Suede is a staple in my wardrobe and it seems it will continue to be so into SS16. I loved the rust colour biker jacket, this will also be on my wishlist.
We were also treated to a presentation of some of the new collection, I captured one of the models taking a picture of me. All the models interacted with the audience making it a fashion show with a difference. All I can say is roll on SS16, when I can introduce Carven to my wardrobe.
