The other week we were invited by the guys from M&Co to celebrate the launch of their flapper dresses collection, by trying the Charleston!

Myself and other fellow bloggers were treated to a dance class with a difference. Everyone has their own preconceptions of doing the Charleston but it's actually really hard, lots of hand eye co-ordination. You can't just move your legs really fast and hope for the best. We slowly pieced together a routine with the dance teacher, until we were left with a full routine to perform at the end.

I have to say it was lots of fun, it's nice to do something a little different for a brand event, it certainly left a lasting impression on me. Thinking outside of the box like this gives me a little something different to talk about. I was really impressed with the class overall and it has actually inspired me into maybe taking some in the new year, not the charleston though! A couple of the other bloggers got a chance to try a flapper dress on and proved that they are the perfect partner for the movement in this routine. Anything with fringing adds to the dance!

You can head to The Dance Studio website to find out more about the kinds of classes that they run.

  1. Sounds like an awesome event! And I agree with you - an event would be more memorable, if it does something that is a little out of the box compared to other events :)

  2. What a brilliant idea! Some ideas are great sounding but logistically don't work.. but the number of you here, it seems spot on. :) Whenever the Charleston is mentioned, I just think of the Doop Doop song from 1994.....
