Black Swan Leeds Review
The other week I was invited down to the Black Swan, on Call Lane Leeds, to try out their new winter to spring menu. Being someone who never passes up on a good meal, I was eager to see what was on offer. I also got to spend the evening with some of my lovely blogger friends.

We were first treated to some starters which were quickly devoured. I stuck to the vegetarian option for this, which was the leek and pearl barley risotto. This was really tasty and something I would of actually liked to of tried as main meal.

The main dishes arrived which were spinach and ricotta gnocchi, sea bass and pork cheek. I'm really not much of a meat eater and really just stick chicken, turkey etc so the pork just wasn't for me. I tried some of the sea bass and the vegetarian dish which were lovely. I had never tried sea bass before and was surprised by how much I liked it, the combination of the butternut squash purèe and roasted squash, baby leek and mushroom filled pasta was a dream.

Now this is where my full blown diva moment came in. Any other bloggers out there worked a full day, go to an event and you still leave hungry? Yeah I can't deal with that, I go full blown h-angry hulk mode. And so I was brought another dish (after a little persuasion) which happened to be my favourite of the night. This lovely spiced courgette and tomato lasagne was pretty special, it came complete with courgette and pumpkin seed salad plus vegetable crisps. My mouth is actually watering thinking about it.

We were brought three desserts to share around the table, these included the dark chocolate tart, spiced rum poached pineapple and stewed rhubarb and ginger crème brulee. Although I'm not usually a fan of pineapple, I loved it in this incarnation. Funny that, all they had to do was drown it in rum.  I would say that the Black Swan is perfect for a meal with friends, you could share some starters and enjoy the rustic charm of the interiors.
