La Redoute AW16Monday, 30 May 2016
Last Thursday I headed to Paris for the La Redoute AW16 press day. I'm always really excited to see the new collections, as it will be my job to sell this for the next 6 months. Also I can start to make my very long wishlist of what I want to use my staff discount on.
I thought I'd put my pictures into a little photo journal of the day, to show you a taste of what I got up to. We travelled over to Paris on the Eurostar, we were in Business Premier which was a new experience for me. I made a beeline for the magazines, there are loads of choose from and you can just take them with you. I felt like a kid in a sweet shop and I think I left with about £25 worth of magazines. Lots of interiors mags for my coffee table. We enjoyed breakfast on the train and just sat back and enjoyed the journey.
Once in Paris we were driven to the press day itself. I have to say this is one of the strongest collections yet and I'm really excited for July, which is when it is available to buy. It always seems weird to be thinking about layers and warm clothes in May but I'm getting pretty used to it by now. When the cold weather eventually returns I ended up discovering the collection all over again when I make my big winter order. There were some really strong prints and I think I had my eye on at least 5 pairs of boots. Nothing changes!
We had lunch at the W Hotel in the Opera area, which was lovely. We had a posh potato an leek soup to start. Followed my parmesan risotto for my main - the dessert was something pastry based and French. Couldn't tell you the name! After that we were whisked over to Le Marais, where we did a little bit of shopping. First we hit up the La Redoute interiors shop and after that I had to visit a French pharmacy. I left with some Bioderma and Caudalie products.
Sadly the day trip had come to an end. We returned to Gare Nu Nord and waiting patiently for our train. Once aboard I had a cheeky glass of champagne to celebrate a successful day. Here is to a great AW16!
