Having one of those moments where you want to throw out everything you own. Yep, I've been there. It's hard to feel inspired if you can't always constantly buy new clothes. I've got into a new way of thinking lately and this involves loving the clothes you own. I was feeling great soaking in some rays at the weekend in this simple outfit. Less is more! Defining and shaping your personal style is all about thinking what works for you and most importantly what you feel good in. I've put together a few tips for ways of defining your style.
So you've picked out a pair of jeans from your wardrobe but you don't just want to team it with the same old t-shirt. On a morning I do a quick Pinterest search to help me out. This is about getting specific though. For example I searched 'topshop dree jeans' this morning as that's what I wanted to wear but needed some Inspo for the rest of my outfit. Voila! You can do this with any item which you love but are unsure on how to style.
2. Study Your Wardrobe
After you've had a good clear out of your wardrobe you should analyse what you are left with. The Pinterest trick may come in handy here, you can team up outfits and take pictures of them on your phone. Make a folder on your phone called something like 'daily outfits' and you will have a bank of images to look at which will remind you about the clothes you do have.
3. Don't Be Afraid To Try Something New
It's important that we wear something that makes us feel good, so trying something new can be scary. Will it suit me? Is it a waste of money? Online shopping is a great remedy for this, with many places doing free returns you can try at home with clothes you already have to see if it is something you would like to add to your wardrobe. Don't take this decision lightly you don't want to add to a pile of pieces you don't wear. If you can pick more then three outfits for it to slot into (or maybe it's a dress and it is the outfit) then it's safe to say that it's a good purchase.
