Goals For 2017Sunday, 1 January 2017
So that's it 2016 is done and dusted. I've been fortunate enough to travel a lot last year and make some great memories. It got me thinking about the year ahead. I'm not one to make new years resolutions as I tend to stick to them for all of about a week. I had a think and I've put together a list of goals for 2017 that are achievable - here's hoping I stick to them.
1. Learn French
I'm sure many of you know I work for a French company and I would love to be able to speak some French. In high school I chose to do Spanish as I went on a lot of Spanish holidays, this came in handy. But not being able to speak French when I have French colleagues and when I travel there a few times of year for work leaves me feeling pretty ignorant. Now i don't expect to become fluent this year but being able to read, say a few phrases and type a business email in French would be great. I'm going to a download an app to listen to too. Any recommendations?
2. Re-Start a Blog Category
I started the Kick-Ass Careers category at the start of 2016. Women in business inspire me and I've got lots of ladies in my life that are literally kicking arse in their careers. I'd love to re-start this category and have it become a proper hub for real honest career advice. By the way have you read Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg - a must read for women in the work place!
3. That Darn' Instagram
so much has changed with Instagram over the past year. I've been making a conscious effort to learn more about the platform, in an effort to grow my own Instagram and to learn my tips to implement in my working life. I'm making some forward steps for it then to go backgrounds about 10. This year I'd like to pool all my knowledge and hopefully break the 5k barrier and beyond. Wish me luck.
4. Take More Pictures
I'm always taking pictures for the blog but I don't feel like I've taken enough in 'real life.' This year I want to make more memories and take more pictures with friends and family. I got this Instax Instant camera for Christmas which will give me the opportunity to play around with real tangible pictures again.
Do you have any goals for 2017? I'd love to read them below...
