How To Wear DressesMonday, 23 January 2017
I've been through a few phases in my life. There was a period of time when I got rid of all my jeans and I'd only wear skirts. Now I pretty much live in jeans. I've never been a 'dress' kind of girl. I only tend to wear them for special occasions and even now I'd prefer to opt for a suit over a dress. It just feels more me.
I realised how much I don't get on with dresses when it came to pinning on Pinterest. I made a board dedicated to dresses and I really struggled to find anything I liked to pin on it. The ones I did all had a similar theme, not tight! I really wanted to find some more dresses that I could wear, they are such a great piece to have in your wardrobe as you don't have to think much about your outfit. Of course everyone has to have their trusty little black dress. So, I was on the hunt for something that would satisfy my dress needs. That came in the form of this polka-dot number, what do you think?
I really liked this style because of how free flowing it was. I don't really suit the body-con style, mainly because I'd spend all day pulling it down. I really liked that this had the option of the ties at the neck too, but I left them un-tied on this occasion. This loose fitting sleeves are also super flattering, skimming over that upper arm area I like to hide.
Overall I thought this was a good option for taking the first tentative steps into wearing dresses again. It's the perfect dress for dressing up or down. On this occasion I decided to team the dress up with my knee high boots from Moda In Pelle. Am I alone here, does anyone else out there have an aversion to dresses?
