Red (And Navy) Alert

So I'm currently in full blown FOMO mode right now as I am missing LFW for a second season. It wasn't an intentional thing but it just didn't work out with other commitments I've had. I have been glued to Instagram though and have actually been watching people's Instagram stories way more than usual, to see all the action from the front rows.

My favourites have been Alex from The Frugality, Lindsey from Ropes of Holland, Lizzy from Shot From The Street and Victoria from In The Frow.
I'm always on the look out for the next trend, I think of spotted a micro trend for AW17. Red and navy have been popping up all over the catwalks since NYFW. Above you can see Victoria Beckham's offerings and more of the fab colour combo from Teatum Jones in the pictures below.

This is a pretty easy trend to start wearing now - the weather is still pretty chilly so nobody has really moved onto the SS17 trends just yet. I actually picked up the suede boots below which are from Next. I'm sure that they will be popping up in an outfit post very soon. They are really comfy, I'm drawn to anything with a chunky heel now.
I thought this cut-out shoulder dress was the perfect to wear now - thrown on an over sized coat and team up with slouchy knee high boots and you've got a very 'of the moment' look already. Finally you can introduce red into your outfits easily by the way of accessories. I've been lusting after Gucci Soho Disco bag in black for a while now. But this red version would add a welcome colour pop to any outfit.

I'm going to be covering more micro-trends that I pick up on over fashion month - what would you like to see next? Judging by the shows I've watched it's all about an exaggerated silhouette too.

  1. Great post! Have been wearing loads of black recently but it would be good to switch to navy and brighter colours just to add some life back in to my wardrobe :)
Feel free to check out my latest post x
