Kylie for SpecsaversMonday, 20 March 2017
Although I wear glasses every day I thought it might be a little extravagant to have more than one pair. I've come to realise though that I need to treat my glasses like an added accessory; I now have a different pair to match my mood thanks to Specsavers. They got in touch about their new collaboration with Kylie Minogue, which launched in February. I'm not one to jump on-board with a celebrity/brand collaborations but after seeing some of the styles online I decided to try a couple of pairs out. I headed down to Specsavers on Albion Street in Leeds, for my style session - the staff there were super helpful.
I first went for something that isn't too far removed from the style I normally go for. These black frames fade to clear on the sides and sit further up on the bridge of your nose, making them really comfortable. The frames themselves have a slightly 50s style about them which I always find suits my face shape. It's important when you try your style in the shop, that you take a few selfies to see how they really look. Seeing yourself in those small mirrors isn't enough, maybe you could even send a snap to friends to get a second opinion.
The second pair I went for were something a little different for me. I'm so used to being hidden behind my frames, so these clear glasses were a real change for me. It's so weird how they seem to alter my appearance, without anything too bulky you can see my whole face. Although they are clear, they look different in varying light, making them all the more interesting.
I think next on the agenda for me has to be some prescription sunglasses, I've never made the leap as we don't have that many sunny days in the UK. After seeing some of the Kylie styles I might just have to invest.
What did you think to my choices? Which frames would you choose?
