Last week I was invited down to check out The Good Luck Club down at Wellington Place in Leeds. This area is going through a big regeneration at the moment. Lots of businesses have their HQs around there and so lots of bars, restaurants and coffee shops are popping up all over to meet the demand.
The owners of Sociable Folk (a charming little coffee shop also in Welling Place) wanted to create somewhere that was a little more formal and the perfect destination for business meetings when a quick sandwich just won’t do. And so The Good luck Club was born. Their New York inspired interiors are lovely and were made for Instagram worthy moments.
As we were in a small group of bloggers we were treated to lots of sharing platers, so we could try a little bit of everything. The kitchen boasts one of the most impressive (and biggest so I was told) ovens in the UK – it can cook things amazingly fast so they are able to offer a fast turn around at busy lunch times.
I tried the mini chicken burgers and of course I had a few halloumi burgers. The chilli drizzle on the halloumi was really tasty and really made the burger. Both were really tasty and I would order a large version of these if I visited again. The sharing fries were incredible – we couldn’t get over how much you get. This was actually a portion for two people! There was also some chargrilled halloumi and vegetable skewer with chilli oil which I happily ate about 5 of.
I loved meeting one of the owners Stacey who was so obviously passionate about her business, it was nice to hear more about the business and their plans for the future.
