tips for a better nights sleep

I thought I’d talk through a few things I’m going to try, to get a better nights sleep. Maybe you’ll find something that would work for you. 

1. Digital Detox An Hour Before Bed
I’m so guilty of getting into bed and mindlessly scrolling on my phone. It’s good to give you’re eyes a rest before bed and to really wind down. I’m going to try and put the phone down and pick up a book instead. I’ve been telling myself I need to read more, so this really achieves two goals in one.

2. Write It Down
Sometimes as hard as we try we just can’t switch off. If you are thinking about something you need to do at work the next day or a appointment you need to make, write it down. Keep and pad and pencil at the side of your bed. Write down what you need to do for the next day or the rest of the week. The process of writing it down helps you to focus on what you really need, a decent nights sleep. 

3. Create A Routine 
Having the perfect pre-bedtime ritual will help you get into a routine and you will soon find yourself drifting off into a peaceful slumber. I usually go up an hour before I actually want to be in bed. I tidy anything away that isn’t meant to be out, light a candle (like the Neom Scent To Sleep one), take off my make-up, have a shower and get into bed feeling ready for some shut eye. A good bedtime routine helps your body and mind have something it can stick to and you’ll be surprised how easily you’ll be able to fall asleep.
