The other week I was invited down to The Ivy Restaurant Victoria Quarter in Leeds, to try out their breakfast menu. I’ve been excited for The Ivy to finally open in Leeds, I’ve heard rumblings for the past few years but it’s finally here! Of course we’ve all heard about the iconic Ivy in London. But how do the regional ones differ?
First impressions. The decor is really cool, I feel like there is a lot to look at and it was just made for Instagram. It has a kind of art-deco feel but with all the velvet plushness you’ve seen on all your favourite interiors instagram accounts. It feels like somewhere you would come to celebrate. Birthday? Anniversary? Promotion? The Ivy is the place to be. In fact I’m going to be going back soon for one of my best friends birthdays. With it being part of the Victoria Quarter it is also a stones throw away from all my favourite shopping destinations in Leeds. Great if you want to pop in for some cocktails after a mammoth shopping trip.
I went for the the Avocado, tomato and sesame, of course had to live my millennial dream. This came with poached eggs and was served on granary toast. It was really tasty and the perfect way to start the day. We were of course treated to tea and pastries too. There is something about being served tea from a silver teapot that means it just taste 100% better, don’t you think? I also had the Beet It Juice with beetroot, carrot and apple. It had a real kick to it and its on of those juices you know is doing wonders for you. Highly recommended if you’re going for breakfast or brunch. I can’t wait to return to I can sample their dinner menu and of course the cocktails.
This breakfast was complimentary, courtesy of The Ivy. But all views on the yummy food are my own.
