The Ivy, has cemented itself as one of THE places to go for dinner now in Leeds. With its decadent interiors and a menu that has something to suit everyone, The Ivy is the place to be. You may remember I was invited down to try their breakfast menu, so when the chance arose to try their dinner menu I jumped at the chance. I went along with one of my best friends, we’d both had a rubbish year and it was a great way to treat ourselves. I would say its the perfect place for a range of different occasions. Lunch with the girls on a Saturday. Romantic dinner for two. Or a catch up with family.
When it came to the menu, we were really spoilt for choice.
We both opted for the Buffalo Mozzarella starter which includes artichokes, pear and truffle honey. This was a great start to our three courses, not too rich so it didn’t fill us up too quickly. It was really tasty, I’d definitely have it again.
For my main meal I went for the Grilled Sea Bass Fillet, which is served with aubergine, tomato pesto and a tomato, olive, shallot and coriander dressing. It was super flaky and not too fishy which I’m not keen on. I’m usually pretty safe when I eat out. I don’t eat red meat and I’m quite picky when it comes to seafood. I’m pleased to see that The Ivy now has a Vegan and Vegetarian menu which gives me loads more options than I’d usually have.
My friend had a steak for her main meal. She said it was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t say much more as I don’t eat beef!
Our desserts were out of this world too. I went for the famous chocolate bombe – the waiter comes and pours the salted Carmel sauce on top and it just melts. It’s just made for a boomerang!
My friend had the Apple tart fine which looked amazing. Something to show off on your Instagram feed. I have to say the desserts were a great size, meaning you don’t feel too over faced.
My meal was free of charge but all views are my own.
