Welcome to my Hague Blue living room!
I’m in that head space at the moment where we have been in the house over 5 years and I’m starting to get the decorators equivalent of itchy feet.
The living room has been on my agenda for a while. It’s taken me almost a full year but finally the room has come together. It was really important to me to create a room which felt cosy. I was concerned at first that the room would be too dark. In the end I really wanted to go the whole hog with the colour.
I had to wait a long 9 weeks for our sofas to be delivered. But I finally have my dream seating situation. I’m getting a few throws to put on my pride and joys for when I have people over – the sofa equivalent of asking people to take off their shoes when they come in the house.
Another element that was important to me was creating a room which people would walk into and not know where to look. Lots of points of interest which shows off both of our personalities. I’ve done this through art and home accessories. The globe bar is something my other half wanted but it fit my theme of creating interesting corners. I love it. We still have the mirror over the fireplace to hang and some more art, but we are pretty much done.
We went for an engineered wood floor in a dark walnut, it perfectly compliments the wall colour. Of course I the La Redoute rug still makes an appearance and gives it some much needed texture.
I’m really happy with the space I’ve created and it’s nice to finally have it come to life. It’s such a nice space to come back to after a long day. What do you think to my Hague Blue living room?
