Top 5 Cocktails To Try

Love cocktails? In or around the Leeds area? Why not try The Cocktail Experience on the 3rd March at Aspire. You can buy tickets here. I went along to the press preview evening to try the cocktails and report back on my favourites. Now we did have a limited amount of time to try them so I think I missed a few but I’ll be making up for this on the 3rd!
1. The Botanist
This cocktail comes from it’s name-sake The Botanist. Belvedere Vodka, Elderflower Liquor, Lime Juice, Jasmine Syrup, Lemonade, Mint and Red Amaranth. To finish off your cocktail; build over cubed ice, churn and top with crushed ice and garnish with red amaranth.
2. The Ruby
The cocktail was made by the guys from Jake’s Bar. It includes Fifty Pounds Gin, homemade superberry tea distillate, homemade pomegranate & blueberry syrup and homemade pomegranate sherbet rim.
3. Fairground
The Oracle offered up this sweet treat complete with candy floss. This cocktail includes Grey Goose Vodka, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, Home made bubble gum infused syrup and Sprite.
4. Chida Fizz
This cocktail is was made by new bar about town Chida, who open their doors on the 8th March. To make this you need: Don Julio Blanco, Cocchi Rosa, Lemon cucumber & hibiscus cordial and top off with soda. To finish add a cucumber roll, pickled radish and a white flower. This one had to be my favourites of the night as I’m a sucker for tequila!
5. Clara
This was Pintura’s offering and was a little unusual. To make it you would need; Deaths Door Gin, Pamplemouse liqueur, Lemon Juice and Grapefruit juice. To finish it off, just top up with Ting and a splash of beer. Oh and don’t forget to salt the rim before you start making it.

I love those little milk bottles for a cocktail, a totally new twist of how to present a cocktail. Didn't we have those top ones at an event at Lambert's Yard?
